Judge orders Delaware State Police to turn over full report on firefighter's fatal helicopter fall

A federal judge has ordered Delaware State Police to turn over the full accident report on the death of a Lewes firefighter who fell from a helicopter during a training exercise in 2016. Tuesday's order comes after a lawyer for the family of Timothy McClanahan issued a subpoena for an unredacted copy of the report and related materials.

Fire shoots flames up trees in Joyce

Ammunition exploded and flames climbed nearby trees as firefighters from Clallam Fire District No. 4 arrived at a fully engulfed unoccupied mobile home early Tuesday morning. Firefighters were directed to the fire at 34 Lewallen Road at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and had the fire contained within half an hour after arriving, Chief Greg Waters said.

Fire destroys Edison art studio

An art studio in Edison was destroyed in a fire Tuesday afternoon. Christine Wardenburg-Skinner, who owns the studio with her husband Tom Skinner, said she was at home on the property when she heard an explosion about 3:30 p.m. in the neighboring studio. “It’s just a complete, total loss,” she said.

Man Charged After Auburn (ME) Ambulance Crash

At the time of the collision, Jones was making a left turn onto Center Street from a driveway and failed to yield to the ambulance, according to Auburn police.  

Jones and his passenger, 70-year-old Phyllis Jones of Wilton, were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where they were treated for minor injuries, Auburn police said.

Neither the Tripp nor his passenger in the ambulance, Lt. Stephen Coombs, were injured in the crash.
