Classes canceled at Surprise Lake Middle School in Milton after fire

Classes and all school-related activities are canceled at Surprise Lake Middle School in Milton on Tuesday after a fire in the boiler-room area damaged one of the school’s buildings. The actual fire damage is pretty minimal, district administrators told KOMO News on Monday night. The bigger issue is the damage from all of the smoke and water, they said.

Kennewick's proposed budget would fund more firefighters, new station

Millions of dollars and a new fire station are up in the air for the city of Kennewick. This week city council will vote on their biennial budget. If it passes, it will bring many changes to the Kennewick Fire Department. Kennewick is a city impacted by fire--it was just few months back the Bofer Canyon fire torched homes and threatened lives in the south Kennewick.

New EMS Building Proposed for Limestone (TN) Community

Washington County-Johnson City EMS Director Dan Wheeley said they're hoping to move forward and  build a new EMS station in Limestone on 11-E across from the industrial park.  

"The county has owned the land for quite a while, EMS has been looking to relocate that station for a couple of years, the county fire service and EMS have been talking about a training facility for about 10 years and it's all kind of come together and hopefully we can make all that happen here on this piece of property," Wheeley said.

The proposed facility would not only include room for EMS but also for a fire truck from the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department.
