It was a remarkable escape by a mother and her two children when fire broke out inside their apartment unit at Cambridge Apartments in Puyallup early Sunday morning. The mom lowered her kids out the window using blankets before jumping out.
7-year-old Jonathan and his 15-month-old brother Julian are lucky to be alive thanks to the actions of their quick-thinking mother.

Benton County Fire District #1 will greet some of their firefighters coming home from California on Monday.
The Washington Strike Team 2 was demobilized on Sunday, allowing them to head back home. Firefighters started their journey to California on November 10. They were assigned to the deadly Woolsey Fire.

Fire officials say Central Washington communities are always at risk for wildfires, but they doubt a blaze as deadly and destructive as the Camp fire in California could happen the same way here.
“Do we have some of the same conditions here in Ellensburg? Yes. But we don’t have the exact same conditions,” said John Sinclair, chief of Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue.
