Man accused of stealing Reno Fire truck

A man is under arrest accused of stealing a Reno Fire Rescue Rig. Reno Police say the unlocked fire truck was parked near the Citi-fare bus station on E. 4th Street around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2018, as firefighters and paramedics were treating a possible stroke victim.

3-alarm fire burns offices near historic Olympia brewery

Multiple firefighter crews rushed to battle a 3-alarm fire in an office building near the old Olympia Brewery property in Tumwater early Monday morning. At about 2:30 a.m., a watchman on site reported seeing smoke in the building. According to Ann Cook, the communications manager for the City of Tumwater, the fire was burning south of the 100 block of Custer Way SW, which is not the historical property of the brewery that the city is currently in the process of renovating.

New York Limo crash kills 20 people in deadliest U.S. transportation accident since 2009

A limousine carrying several couples to a birthday party failed to stop at an intersection in upstate New York and struck a parked vehicle, killing 20 people in the deadliest transportation accident in the United States in nearly a decade, according to authorities and a family member. The 2001 Ford Excursion limo was traveling southwest on State Route 30 when it didn't stop at the intersection with State Route 30 A and collided with an SUV in the parking lot shortly before 2 p.

Federal jury finds Oregon fire district breached former chief's contract, awards $500,000

A federal jury this week awarded $500,000 to a former Klamath fire chief after finding Klamath County Fire District No. 1 breached his contract when it fired him in August 2013 without due process. James Wenzel served as fire chief for five and a half years. His lawyer argued that the county failed to provide Wenzel adequate notice or a hearing before his termination and never told him why he'd been under investigation.
