Daughter honors father's sacrifice by serving as firefighter on the same engine in Kentucky

VIDEO: Northern Kentucky firefighters came together over the holiday weekend to dedicate a firetruck to a fallen hero. Engine 2802 now bears a plaque commemorating the service of Alexandria firefighter Ken Temke. Temke joined the Alexandria Fire District in 1997 as a volunteer. On the morning of March 25, 2004, Temke was part of a crew returning to the station when he collapsed, the Northern Pendleton Fire District said.

'Don't do stupid things.' North Carolina teen left with severe burns after TikTok challenge, now warning others

VIDEO: A Heritage High School student has a warning for other kids after 76% of his body suffered burns when he tried a TikTok challenge. Mason and a group of friends saw people playing with lighters and spray paint cans on TikTok. They then decided to try it themselves trying to start a fire to stay warm, but the can blew up and flames engulfed his body.

Walla Walla fire crews battle shop fire on Memorial Day

Walla Walla fire crews responded to a fast-growing shop fire on Memorial Day. According to a post from Walla Walla County Fire District 8, crews responded to a shop fire in the 5100 block of Biscuit Ridge Road at 11:23 a.m. When they arrived, crews found two large outbuildings on fire, which was spreading quickly to the brush, trees and a car garage nearby.

Crews battle metal scrapyard fire in Tacoma Tideflats

VIDEO: In Pierce County, fire crews battled a metal scrapyard fire in the Tacoma Tideflats on Sunday. The big plume of smoke was visible miles away. Tacoma Fire said the fire started just before 7 a.m. Arriving crews couldn’t reach the heart of the fire due to debris being in the way. So workers at the scrapyard used their own equipment to separate unburned piles so that fire crews could put out the flames.

Kennewick woman barricades herself in apartment while it's on fire, Tri-Cities SWAT makes entry

A Kennewick woman is facing multiple charges after an ordeal Sunday afternoon. According to Kennewick Police, at around 11:00 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of McKinley Street for reports of the location of a wanted person. The suspect, identified as Kayla Guzman, has multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants.
