REV Group Fire Division– KME – Delivers First Talon™ High Reach Extendable Turret (HRET)

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – REV Group (NYSE: REVG), a $2.4 billion manufacturer of industry-leading specialty vehicle brands and leading provider of parts and services, today announced the delivery of the first KME TalonTM High Reach Extendable Turret (HRET).  The TalonTM delivers the unique ability to have a high reach extendable turret installed on a custom pumper while maintaining a short overall length and wheelbase.

The benefits of the TalonTM HRET include:

• An elevated 1,000 GPM (gallons per minute) master stream that is manuverable to position around obstruction and wires around the fire ground

• Cab and body avoidance system with automatic stow and deploy features for ease of use

• Wireless remote controls for boom and monitor functions

• Optional piercing nozzle, dry chemical systems, and camera/thermal image systems

Lindenwold Fire District #1, NJ has accepted delivery of the first KME TalonTM HRET.  Mike Nolan, Lindenwold Fire Department, Executive Fire Administrator commented, “This truck will be an asset to our department in many ways.  One of the reasons we selected the TalonTM HRET is it addresses our needs for the 24 apartment complexes that our department serves.”

Aircraft join fight against Jolly Mountain Fire in Upper Kittitas County

Additional resources, including aircraft, arrived to fight the Jolly Mountain Fire in Upper Kittitas County over the weekend. The fire started Aug. 11 after a series of lightning strikes in the region. It is burning in a remote, hard-to-reach area northeast of Lake Cle Elum. As of this morning, it was 4,682 acres, with more than 300 personnel assigned to fight it.

Bellingham home damaged by fire

The cause of the fire Monday afternoon that damaged an old home being restored in the 100 block of South Forest Street remains under investigation. John Nickell, 68, was outside in his garden on the corner of Bryant and South Garden streets when he saw smoke coming out of the turret area of the home at 158 S.

Baltimore officials investigating why engine was turned away from fire

Baltimore fire officials revised a new dispatching policy Monday amid an investigation into why an engine on the scene of a house fire on Friday was turned away. The city began looking into the matter after audio of firefighters being ordered to leave the scene circulated on the internet. According to audio of fire department communications posted on YouTube under the name Mack Flickerson, Engine 31 from Waverly responded to a house fire at 7:17 p.

Texas firefighters suffer close call amid storm

PHOTO - Seguin firefighters responding to a call during Hurricane Harvey found themselves needing a little help. After responding to a call on Timber Elm in the Elm Grove area, a tree fell due to the high winds onto the cab of the fire engine, disabling the truck. While no injuries were reported, Seguin Fire Chief Dale Skinner said it served as a stark reminder of what can happen in high wind situations.
