Simplex Aerospace to Deliver SkyCannon® to Chinese Customer

 Simplex Aerospace SkyCannon®

Simplex® Aerospace announced it has received a new order for a high-rise firefighting system (Simplex SkyCannon®) and fire attack system for the AVICOPTER (AVIC) AC313 helicopter. The new SkyCannon® for the AC 313 is called the Simplex Model 580. The Model 580 SkyCannon® uses the 1,000-gallon Simplex Model 380A Fire Attack® (FAS) system as a water source. The Model 380 FAS for the AC313 has been delivered to several locations in China over the last few years. Currently installed Simplex fire attack systems on the AC313 can be retrofitted to accommodate the SkyCannon®

The Simplex Aerospace SkyCannon® was first delivered to Tokyo Fire in late 2015. The Model 516 SkyCannon® at Tokyo Fire Department uses the Simplex 316 FAS as a water source. Simplex Aerospace is also in the process of adapting the SkyCannon® to other helicopter platforms that use Simplex® Aerospace Fire Attack® systems. The new systems will also feature several of Simplex® Aerospace's patented wild land firefighting features.

Mark Zimmerman, Simplex® Aerospace President and CEO, stated, "The SkyCannon® systems in both Tokyo and Beijing will help local firefighters to better manage high rise building fires. By being able to fight the fire quickly and at its source, a new level of safety will be available to residents of Beijing and Tokyo. It is Simplex® Aerospace’s intention to supply our SkyCannon® system on all Simplex systems that meet equipment size requirements for effective use.”

Founded in 1946, Simplex® (www.simplex.aero) has built a reputation as the leader in design, manufacturing, and certification of aerial application systems and mission equipment for helicopters. Simplex maintains its industry leadership by incorporating the latest technology in designing and manufacturing systems from high-strength, low-weight composite materials to produce reliable and cost-effective systems for firefighting, agriculture, utilities maintenance, and other aerial applications.

MedixSafe Introduces KARE Key Cabinet

MedixSafe KARE Key Cabinet

MedixSafe, a leader in the access control cabinet market, is pleased to introduce KARE. This Key Access Ready Enclosure is a heavy duty key control cabinet with an HID format card reader and key override built right into the electronic lock.

The KARE reader features a Wiegand output so it can be connected to any access control panel.

Much more than merely a place to store keys, it gives the user control over their keys by limiting access to authorized users only and knowledge of who has accessed keys and when.

The 16"H x 13.5"W x 4.5"D enclosure has a polymer swing handle lock, and the built-in HID SE® card reader accepts 125 kHz Prox cards. This allows users to use their existing cards. Access to the KARE key cabinet is then controlled by your existing access control database. Included are 48 Key Tag Holders that can hold multiple keys or a set of keys. Each key tag easily snaps open so that names and/or numbers of keys can be inserted. An Excel template is included for printing labels. When a different key is placed on the tag a new label can easily be printed and installed. The Excel template also allows changing label fonts and sizes.

"MedixSafe is committed to delivering the very best in key control," says Jim Turner, President, MedixSafe. "The KARE product is unique in that it's designed to be connected to an access control system. Users can use their own existing access control cards and software to control who has access to this cabinet."

The RAMFAN® EX50Li, Battery-Powered, All-Purpose Ventilator Offers the Highest Levels of Versatility for Firefighters

RAMFAN EX50Li suspended in doorway

TheFireStore, the nation’s leading multi-channel distributor of public-safety equipment, supplies, training, and service, is excited to offer a perfectly balanced, cordless PPV fan specifically designed to feature maximum versatility and powered by the latest, Lithium-Ion technology available to best suit specific, fireground-related needs: the RAMFAN EX50Li Battery-Powered, All-Purpose Ventilator.

As the world leader in battery-powered PPV technology, Euramco Group, the manufacturer of RAMFAN products, has equipped the RAMFAN EX50Li Battery-Powered, All-Purpose Ventilator with second generation PowerStream® airflow straighteners for flexible positioning, reduced noise inside the structure, and a deeper FlowPath™ through the structure. Equally impressive are its unique advantages over gas and corded fans.

“The RAMFAN EX50Li Battery-Powered, All-Purpose Ventilator has the ability to be carried into a building without being tethered to a cord reel,” according to TheFireStore Product Line Specialist Ray Smeriglio. “It can then be positioned in front of or directly outside a door of a room or an area to be vented.”

As a much-needed upgrade from outdated smoke ejectors, the RAMFAN EX50Li Battery-Powered, All-Purpose Ventilator can easily hang from a door bar; alternatively, it can be positioned face-down over top of standard manholes and blow directly down into it. Need to exhaust air out of a confined space or an attic? Simply place it on its back to do so.

The fan is an excellent tool for use by emergency-response teams when working to free a trapped victim in a confined space: It can quickly connect to RAMFAN’s duct adapter/reducer and 16-inch duct in order to provide clean, fresh air to trapped individuals or to successfully exhaust harmful gases from the atmosphere.

“The RAMFAN EX50Li Battery-Powered, All-Purpose Ventilator’s frame, electronics, battery, motor, and every other feature was designed with the fire service as its intended customer base,” Smeriglio said. “It all comes together as a very well-designed tool with practical features that have an impact on the fireground.”

Some additional specs include the following:

Â·         brushless motor with a longer motor life and run-time compared to traditional brushed motors with less maintenance

·         400 energy-efficient LEDs power scene lights that are integrated into the shroud that illuminate whatever is in their path. The LEDs sip power, thereby alleviating any concern of draining the batteries with the lights on

·         IP66-rated water resistant

·         exclusive IntelliSense™ E2 controller is tailor-made for firefighting and industrial operations
