Neighbor Arrested for Suspected Arson in South Seattle Neighbor

“Thank God I'm alive,” Eli Lu said. Lu said it's still surreal walking out of her South Seattle home and seeing this next door, the neighbor's house gutted by fire. Authorities say her neighbor, Sothy Kem, started the fire in the bottom floor, which he was renting. Her dad's car, which was parked on the side of her house, was also burned.

A study by the Matrix Consulting Group in 2008 recommended the department build a new station in the area of Civic Center Drive near Interstate 95. The area is home to the Marketplace at Augusta, a hospital and an under-construction National Guard headquarters, along with several businesses, organizations and public agencies.
