Police, fire and other government agencies across Florida must ground millions of dollars in aerial drones because of a new state rule banning the agencies from using devices made by China-based DJI.
The DJI drones are among the most widely used in the world, but the DeSantis administration said they pose a security threat and did not include them on a list of approved drone manufacturers.

The Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue Board has selected a new chief who will start July 17. Scott Goldstein will take over leading the district, coming from Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Goldstein is currently the chief of the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service. He is retiring from that position to move to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family according to a press release from Cowlitz 2.

As the Washington Department of Natural Resources is gearing up for wildfire season, Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz has announced its Wildfire Ready Neighbors is expanding to Western Washington.
Last summer, DNR responded to 377 wildfires that burned more than 17,000 acres and threatened hundreds of homes and properties across Western Washington.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: One person was killed and three others were critically injured when a car crashed into a home in Auburn early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened just after 2:45 a.m. Wednesday on the 4000 block of Auburn Way South. Auburn Police Department (APD) spokesperson Kolby Crossley told KOMO News the homeowner called 911 after the crash.
