VIDEO/PHOTOS: All residents have been accounted for after dozens of crews responded to a house fire in Snohomish early Monday morning.
The fire was first reported around 2:35 a.m. at a house on the 11700 block of 92nd Street Southeast, which is just south of US 2. The person who initially called 911 told dispatchers they woke up to an explosion, according to Bill Scherer, battalion chief for Snohomish County Fire District No.

Much-needed rain fell across western Washington Friday and Saturday with many areas receiving wetting rain totals over a quarter of an inch.
Some lucky locations saw half an inch or more of rain, including Olympia and Everett. Sea-Tac and Bellingham picked up just under half an inch of rain during the 48-hour period.

Pasco's new Fire Chief won't have to come from very far.
Following the retirement of long-time Chief Bob Gear in Pasco, City officials announced today the appointment of Kennewick's Deputy Chief is to take the role.
Kevin Crowley brings over 25 years of experience to the department after working in various roles for Kennewick Fire, most recently as Deputy Chief.

Flames lit up the sky over southwest Phoenix Thursday night as firefighters battled a massive blaze that broke out at a wood pallet facility near 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.
According to Captain Todd Keller with Phoenix Fire, crews were called to the area around 8 p.m. after receiving a call about a fire coming from the business.

VIDEO: The Dickinson Fire Department has been actively engaged in a series of rigorous training activities this summer. While their schedule is not atypical for their firefighters, the number of eyes witnessing the behind-the-scenes efforts is new.
Throughout the year, Dickinson firefighters participate in a diverse range of training exercises, including bailout drills and downed firefighter CPR, which aim to enhance their skills and better serve the community by ensuring their readiness for emergencies.
