Nebraska town considers banning smoking in apartments

Some leaders in Nebraska's third-largest city are borrowing an idea from a vastly more liberal state: Ban apartment renters from smoking cigarettes and e-cigarettes inside. The proposal, which would be one of the few such restrictions outside of California and is similar to federal rules for public housing across the U.

Court documents: Accused Burlington mall shooter confesses to killings

Arcan Cetin has admitted that he took a rifle to the Cascade Mall on Friday night and shot and killed five people, court documents say. The court documents, however, offer no clue about a motive for the shooting. Cetin, 20, faces five charges of premeditated first-degree murder and is being held on $2 million bail.

2 Firefighters Killed Fighting Wilmington House Fire

Two Wilmington firefighters died Saturday morning when the floor of a burning row home collapsed.

The first floor of the two-story home collapsed, trapping at least three firefighters and one civilian, according to initial reports.

Two firefighters died, and two more are in critical condition and being treated at Christiana Hospital.

Wilmington Fire Chief Anthony Goode is expected to hold a news conference this morning to release more information. The identities of the fallen firefighters will be released after family members have been notified.
