A fire displaced the residents of a home on South 14th Street and caused $70,000 damage Tuesday night.
Firefighters were called to 805 S. 14th St. around 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, and found a fire burning in the garage. It spread to the house as well, according to a fire department news release.
Crews were able to put out the fire quickly, but the home’s residents were not able to go back that night and received assistance from the American Red Cross, the release said.

It is with great sadness that Snohomish County Fire District 7 and North County Fire/EMS announce the unexpected passing of one of their own. Marcus Carroll passed away after falling off a cliff while hiking near Cle Elum, WA. He was 23 years old.
Carroll was reported missing Sunday, May 31st after he did not return home from a day hiking trip.

The Fleet Reserve Building in Oak Harbor was damaged in a mid-morning fire Sunday, the Oak Harbor Fire Department reported.
Fire Chief Ray Merrill said the fire started inside the structure but the cause has not yet been determined.
An investigation is ongoing.
A witness reported seeing smoke coming from the roof of the building, which is in the southeast area of the city, at 10:38 a.

A three-alarm fire at the Chelan Food Mart on East Woodin Ave. collapsed the roof and required evacuation of a neighboring house early Tuesday morning.
Chelan Fire and Rescue Lt. Shawn Sherman was first on the scene around 4:00 a.m.
“It didn’t look like there was any active flames when we first arrived there, but there was smoke showing so we knew we had a fire somewhere.

The body of a missing Snohomish County firefighter was found Monday night on a cliff-face at Peoh Point in Kittitas County.
Kittitas County deputies received a report of an overdue hiker Saturday evening in the area of Peoh Point, south of Cle Elum. Marcus Carroll, 24, was hiking alone out to the viewpoint and his truck was recovered on an access road, according to the sheriff’s office.
