Firefighters from Fire District #11 called to a report of mobile home fire in south Spokane County Tuesday morning found more than a fire when they arrived.
The call came in around 8:00 a.m. as several people said they could see the flames from Highway 27.
While extinguishing the flames of a fire that destroyed the mobile home, two greenhouses full of what the Spokane County Sheriff's Office initially believed was an illegal marijuana grow operation were found on the property.

As country music superstar Shania Twain was performing at the Spokane Veterans Arena Saturday night when one of her fans went into cardiac arrest, and both Shania and a phone app take can take a bow for saving a man's life.
Shania was performing on stage when one of her fans in the audience went into cardiac arrest in section 117 Saturday night.

Grant Taylor told police he struck a firefighter with his pickup truck after he became angry with firefighters who were collecting donations and slowing down traffic, according to court records.
He honked his horn and threw an apple core at Lansing Firefighter Dennis Rodeman before driving away, turning around and running down Rodeman in the street, according to testimony from a Lansing police detective.

At least eight people were confirmed dead and five more missing late Monday after two cars were caught in a flash flood in Hildale on the Utah-Arizona border.
Several vehicles were reportedly swept into waterways after heavy rains hit at approximately 5 p.m. MT, including two vehicles that had been carrying 16 people in Maxwell Canyon north of the city, said Kevin Barlow, assistant fire chief.
