Spokane County firefighters got a very generous donation Monday from two young girls. Fire officials said the two elementary age girls raised $387 for firefighters with a lemonade stand in Colbert. One of the girls went to the department’s District Office in Chattaroy after school and presented the money to Spokane County Fire District 4.

A woman in her 70s survived a massive fire that gutted her Bonney Lake home on 218th Avenue Court East. Firefighters found the woman on her back porch with serious burns to her face and head.
