A minivan collided head-on with an SUV full of eight teens near Onalaska on Monday night, leaving two dead and four others hurt, and investigators say alcohol is likely to blame. The Land Rover SUV was heading east on Highway 508 with four 18-year-old men and four 13-year-old girls inside when it collided with a Ford minivan approaching from the opposite direction.

Firefighters battled a large brush fire near Lipoma Firs Golf Course in the Pierce County Monday night. Orting Valley Fire and Rescue said it was contained by 10 p.m. A huge smoke plume from the fire could be seen for miles at the height of the fire. Some homes in the area were on standby for evacuation.

The Pasco Fire Department says they are investigating a series of suspicious fires, the most recent three happening Monday morning. Firefighters say around 5:01 a.m. they were called to the area of 20th and A St. near the bike path for a brush fire. The fire burned an area about 20 ft. by 20 ft. No property was damaged and just sage and grass was burned.
