Mississippi fire crews spend hours trying to douse fire after blaze erupts at old, abandoned warehouse building

An old, abandoned warehouse building goes up in flames Tuesday evening in downtown Jackson. The facility, which used to be an old recycling building, is located at the intersection of Monument and Palmyra Streets. Crews with the Jackson Fire Department spent hours putting out the blaze. VIDEO: Firefighting robot demonstration held in Pennsylvania

You expect to find firefighters at a fire department. But what you may not expect to find is a firefighting robot like the one on display at the Greenwood Fire Department in Moosic. It's called the Super Vac TAF 35 Mobile Firefighting Robot. It's remote-controlled and can pour 1,200 gallons of water a minute on a fire.

Fire Department of New York hosts national event over concerns about e-bike, e-scooter battery fires

Following concerns about the rise of e-bike and e-scooter fires in the US, firefighters hosted a national event to raise awareness about the potential risks posed by lithium-ion batteries. Fiery crash in California 50 years ago spurs today’s world-class burn care

September 24 marks a dark day for Sacramento. It was 50 years ago that 22 people died — 12 of them children — when a jet taking off from Sacramento Executive Airport overran the runway and slammed into Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour.
