Cocomelon children’s book causes car seat, minivan to catch fire, North Carolina firefighters say

VIDEO: Firefighters are warning parents after a Cocomelon children’s book caused a minivan fire in North Carolina. The George Hildebran Fire & Rescue Department said Sunday that a child’s car seat caught fire soon after the child had gotten out. After the flames were put out, the Fire Marshal’s Office determined that the fire was started by a “button battery” inside a children’s book that was left underneath the seat.

Spokane Fire Department puts out brush fire near North Nine Mile Road

Spokane Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the area of North Nine Mile Drive and North Royal Drive. The fire is now out and fire crews spent part of the evening mopping it up. According to Spokane Fire Department (SFD), the fire started around 7:55 p.m. and burned about a third of an acre.

Wenatchee Fire Crews Knock Down Brush Fire Near Turtle Rock

Wenatchee Valley Fire Department crews knocked down a brush fire near Turtle Rock along US Highway 2, Tuesday afternoon. The fire was near MP 133 and just northeast of Lincoln Rock State Park. Chief Brian Brett said the fire was reported about 3:15pm by witnesses on both sides of the Columbia. "When our crews arrived, it was under a half acre in size and burning on the river side of the highway.

Southeast Thurston Fire stays busy this summer dispatching mobilization crews

Southeast Thurston Fire Authority (SETFA) has been active since the start of the summer season, dispatching several crews to combat non-local fires as part of the wildland mobilization team under the direction of the Washington State Patrol and the Department of Natural Resources. According to Kelly Corey, SETFA’s wildland coordinator, the most recent strike team returned to Thurston County on Monday, August 12, after fighting a fire near White Pass.

VIDEO: Raging fire sweeps across multiple buildings in New York; 9 injured

At least nine people were injured in a four-alarm fire that swept across a cluster of buildings in Brooklyn late Monday night, according to the FDNY. The fire broke out at a building on Dean Street between Mother Gaston Boulevard and Sackman Street around 10:40 p.m. Over 160 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene, per fire officials.
