Tennessee fire command truck crashes into vehicles, building after driver passes out

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A ‘medical emergency’ caused a crash in Dandridge Wednesday morning after a firefighter passed out while driving. Dandridge Fire Chief Andy Riley shared that the driver and a lieutenant with the Dandridge Fire Department were out around 10:30 a.m. to do a weekly check of the department’s fire boat in Douglas Lake when the driver passed out behind the wheel.

San Francisco voters to decide whether to lower firefighters' retirement age

San Francisco voters will decide in November whether to lower the retirement age from 58 to 55 for the city's firefighters, who risk cancer and death as part of their job. If more than half of voters on the Nov. 5 ballot approve the amendment to the city charter, members of the San Francisco Fire Department hired after Jan.

Renton firefighters extinguish 40-foot flames at massive encampment fire

Firefighters Extinguish Brush Fire South of Beebe Bridge in Chelan County

PHOTOS: At 11:42 Wednesday morning, July 31, a brush fire was reported one mile south of the Beebe Bridge. Firefighters arrived on scene in seven minutes from being dispatched finding a two-acre fire quickly spreading up steep hillsides burning in dry grass and sage. The fire response quickly became a second then third alarm fire bringing in fire district resources from Chelan Douglas and Okanogan Counties.

500 acres burned after fish dropped on substation in Benton County

About 500 acres burned west of Paterson after a fire reportedly started by a fish landing on a substation. Fire crews responded to the area of SR 14 around milepost 157 around 10 a.m. According to Scott Hawley, with Benton County Fire District #6, the fire is believed to have been started by sparks when a fish was dropped on the substation by a bird.
