The Zillah Volunteer Firefighters will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and silent auction. Firefighters say, the event is to help raise money for volunteer firefighter Dora Gunnoe whose family was involved in a tragic accident. According to the Yakima Fire Department, Gunnoe has been serving the community as a firefighter for 11 years.

Washington’s emergency management personnel could once again think about the unthinkable and make plans to evacuate cities ahead of a possible nuclear attack. Critics argue, however, that lifting the Reagan-era prohibition would only help bolster an “illusion” that nuclear war is winnable. A Vancouver, Wash., teenager who is accused of setting the Eagle Creek Fire in the Columbia River Gorge last summer is set to appear in court for the first time next month. The fire was first reported Sept. 2, 2017 near the Eagle Creek Trail, where police say a 15-year-old boy threw a firework down a ravine during dry, hot weather.
