U.S. Reps Demand To Know Why Fire Crews Are Stretched Dangerously Thin At Illinois Naval Stations

They’re exhausted. We told you Monday night about the shortage at the federal fire department tasked with keeping Naval Station Great Lakes safe, and how that shortage is affecting surrounding communities. On Tuesday, CBS 2’s Tara Molina took concerns to our elected officials. She learned that members of Congress are also asking the Navy why the shortage, and the issues it is creating, are not being addressed.

Issaquah resident spent 33 years in 911 dispatching

He’s been called the master of fire dispatching for the Eastside due to his knack for anticipating firefighter needs while under the pressures of a quick-burning blaze. Dave Stuby’s 33 years in emergency dispatching may have something to do with it. But it was also his dedication. Early on in his dispatching career, a new truck in Woodinville caught fire.

State Archives and Library awarded for saving artifacts from Aberdeen Armory fire

When the Aberdeen Museum of History burned down in June 2018, a team from the Washington State Archives played a crucial role in rushing to rescue and restore thousands of historic artifacts, historical documents and photographs from the basement archives before water and soot damage destroyed them. To recognize the effort by the State Archives and Washington State Library to preserve Grays Harbor history, the Washington State Historical Society will present both groups one of its seven annual awards — the David Douglas Award, recognizing contributions to inform or expand appreciation of Washington State History.

Texas Firefighter Seriously Injured in Fire Apparatus Roll Over

Motley County Fire Department responded to several lightning fires during which a firefighter was seriously injured in a roll over accident, reports EverythingLubbock.com.

Logan Jones, 18, experienced several broken bones and was flown to University Medical Center.

According to MCFD, several other departments and EMS units responded to the scene to help Jones.
