Fire destroys Burien Department of Corrections Office vehicles, declared arson

VIDEO: Authorities in Burien say an early morning fire beneath a State Department of Corrections building was intentionally set. The fire broke out around 6:48 Tuesday morning at the DOC Community Field Office on 8th Avenue Southwest near “Old Burien.” Flames quickly raced through three state-owned vehicles in the parking lot.

Cause of Nov. 21 fire at commercial outbuilding in Centralia hasn’t been determined

A new kind of first responder in Renton

The way we are thinking about public safety in our communities is changing, and this is certainly true in Renton. During the pandemic, we saw our social systems tested and stressed as hospitals and clinics went understaffed and overloaded with patients. We saw our shelters for the unhoused reach capacity as they ran out of beds for those in need of a warm place to sleep.

VIDEO: 2 hospitalized with burn injuries after large fire at South Los Angeles construction site

Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after a fire broke out overnight at a construction site in the Central-Alameda neighborhood of South Los Angeles. The fire at a multi-family residential building construction site was first reported just before 3:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of East Vernon Street.

New York bill would require fire safety precautions in e-bike shops
