‘Nothing a hug can’t fix’: Bothell firefighters rescue boy stuck between poles

PHOTOS: Bothell firefighters had to rescue a boy who got into a scary situation on his school’s playground Thursday. He became trapped between two poles and crews had to use the jaws of life to get him out safely. A post on X, (formerly known as Twitter), said the little guy wasn’t hurt, “just a little scared, but nothing a hug can’t fix.

Update: NTSB report reveals flight control failure as cause of deadly Mutiny Bay seaplane crash

PHOTOS: A newly released report by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) highlights the details of why a seaplane in Mutiny Bay crashed on Sept. 4, 2022, and killed 10 people. The float-equipped de Havilland DHC-3 airplane sank in about 200 feet of water during the crash. However, the plane was in level flight before it climbed slightly and then abruptly pitched down, descending at an estimated rate of more than 9,500 feet per minute until it impacted the water.

Man saved by good Samaritan in Oregon Road Fire returns home from burn unit

The Oregon Road Fire began late in the afternoon on Aug. 18 and quickly grew out of control, tearing through houses and dried out trees at terrifying speed and forcing residents to evacuate. Within hours, thousands of acres had burned and hundreds of people displaced. The rapid spread meant many were not prepared to leave quickly, with many in dire straits as they struggled to corral livestock or move loved ones with restricted mobility.

Spokane Valley FD promotes cooking fire safety through Fire Prevention Week

Starting on October 8th, the Spokane Valley Fire Department is promoting the nation's fire prevention week. It's a joint effort with city leaders from Millwood, Liberty Lake, and Spokane Valley. This year, the department wants the public to be more cautious when cooking at home. “Most people don’t realize the dangers surrounding their stoves, ovens, microwaves, and barbecues,” said SVFD Deputy Fire Marshal Brett Anderson.

Governor Inslee asking President Biden for federal aid amid Gray, Oregon Road fire recovery

As Medical Lake and Elk residents continue to recover from a devastating wildfire season, Washington state's governor is looking to the Commander in Chief for recovery assistance. Washington Gov.
