Earlier this year, Public Lands Commissioner Hillary Franz said this year’s fire season could see drier conditions than 2022.
We spoke with her and asked her how the fire season has gone.
"This fire season has been significant," Franz said.
According to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources website, 1,855 fires have been counted across the state this year.

A Wayland business complex became an inferno Tuesday afternoon after a large fire broke out, spreading to a parked car and setting off multiple explosions.

One Central Illinois fire department is considering the implementation of fees for one of its services.
The Village of Savoy is set to vote on a new ordinance that would specifically affect non-emergency calls at assisted living facilities within the village. The non-emergency service would primarily be lift assistance.
