VIDEO: Chicago Fire Department chief, lieutenant attacked by man with knife after being lured into home

Two Chicago firefighters were rescued after being lured into a home and attacked by a man armed with a knife Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said. Chicago police said the incident occurred in the 7700-block of South Marshfield Avenue at about 12:18 p.m. Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said firefighters were called to a garage fire.

Hurricane Idalia slams Florida's Gulf Coast, Georgia, moves into Carolinas

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Idalia isn't finished with the Southeastern coastal states yet. Idalia made landfall Wednesday morning as a powerful Category 3 hurricane over Keaton Beach, located along Florida's Gulf Coast near Tallahassee. After rapidly intensifying on its path through the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and briefly registering as a Category 4 storm, the hurricane hit Florida's Big Bend area with maximum sustained winds of 125 miles per hour.

University of Maryland students using indoor drones to help fire crews
