PHOTOS: Two new engines are currently being constructed for the city of Yakima Fire Department, with the first inspection coming up in a couple weeks.
ARPA funding is paying for the engines.
One will be used for station 91 and the other will go to station 95.
Deputy fire chief D.J. Goldsmith, says this is a great start as the agency is getting worn out from all the calls that are coming in.

"Therapy dogs do wonders… even weeks after tragic events," Spokane County Fire District 8 said after sending a therapy dog to the other end of the country.
There, the dog spent quality time with the brave men and women who provided aid to the people involved in a tragic mass shooting.
Thanks to donations from union members, Spokane County Fire District 8 sent Chaplain Aaron McNally and his therapy dog, Pierce, to Lewiston, Maine last week.

The Tri-State Tollway was mired in a traffic nightmare during the evening rush Tuesday, after a semi-trailer truck hauling cars sparked a huge fire on the Tri-State Tollway in southwest suburban Willow Springs.
As CBS 2's Charlie De Mar reported, traffic was very slow through the night along northbound I-294 near the scene.

VIDEO: Fayetteville Tech Community College opened a state-of-the-art swift water rescue training facility. Officials said the facility will help expand job opportunities in the area.
The new facility on Tom Starling Road is the only swift water rescue training facility on the East Coast. It will help teach countless trainees how to save lives.

VIDEO: On Nov. 11, firefighters in Benton County discovered a Dodge brush fire truck from inside the firehouse on E. Highway 94 in Monte Ne had been stolen. Later that morning, the Benton County Sheriff's Office found the truck in Springdale outside the home of the man who allegedly stole it and drove home the night before.
