VIDEOS: Emergency crews responded to the scene of a train derailment in Montgomery County, which prompted temporary evacuations in the area.
According to authorities, 16 cars on a CSX train derailed in the area of Stenton Avenue, Flourtown Road and Joshua Road in Whitemarsh Township early Monday morning.

For an Advance volunteer firefighter who was born deaf, a lifelong dream can finally come true.
A landmark settlement between Austin Freidt, a volunteer with the Cornatzer-Dulin VFD, and the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services will allow Freidt to receive disability-related accommodations to take the NC Emergency Medical Technician exam and become a full-time firefighter.

Seattle firefighters became the victims of a break-in after thieves got into a fire truck and stole several pricy pieces of equipment outside Fred Meyer in Ballard.
The theft happened in the middle of the day, around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the Seattle firefighters’ union, IAFF Local 27, multiple front-line rescue saws and a generator were taken from a fire truck parked near the Ballard Fred Meyer.

Evacuations were ordered due to a wildfire near the Skamania County town of Carson on Sunday afternoon, according to county dispatch.
Skamania County Fire District 5 reported that it was responding along with North Bonneville Fire shortly after 4 p.m. to a fire near Bear Creek Road and Wind River Highway.

Fire crews responded to a brush fire burning in Spokane Valley on Saturday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the fire burned about two acres in an area with grass and timber.
The fire was located in the area of East Crescent Drive and 15th Avenue & Chapman Road in Greenacres.
