Update: Family says man killed in Lakewood fire died trying to save neighbor

VIDEO: It’s been more than a week since a fast-moving brush fire ravaged the Jamestown Mobile Home Park on August 4th, destroying nine homes and killing two men. The family of Zachary McDonough said he died in the fire trying to save his neighbor, 70-year-old Patrick Zmiarovich. On August 4th, Lance Daines heard the news about the fire at Jamestown Mobile Home Park and that two were dead, but never thought it would be his younger brother Zachary, who went by 'Zack.

Washington firefighters who died in the line of duty honored in statewide memorial service

The Sourdough Fire reaches 1,710 acres, still 0% contained

The Sourdough Fire has now grown to 1,710 acres, while still sitting at 0% containment. More than 300 firefighters continue to coordinate and implement containment efforts while focusing on slowing the spread of the fire and protecting public safety. Currently, no damns, transmission lines, power houses, or other critical infrastructure is threatened, but the fire did get close to the small town of Diablo, but thankfully shifted away from the area.

Update: Spokane and Tukwila police arrest suspect accused of setting 3 fires in Sunset Hills area

VIDEO: A suspect has been arrested in connection with the series of fires that were ignited in the Sunset Highway/Hills area near the Finch Arboretum on Aug. 3. According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), 53-year-old Vickie L. Smith was arrested Thursday morning in King County and is awaiting extradition to Spokane.

Video About Florida Firefighter’s Triumph Over Cancer Garners Telly Award Recognition

VIDEO: A heartfelt video about a Coral Springs-Parkland firefighter who beat cancer has won a prestigious Telly Award. Produced by the City of Coral Springs Communications and Marketing Department, Driver Engineer Brian Hobson was presented with the award on August 3. A survivor of thyroid cancer, considered occupational for firefighters, Hobson was diagnosed early and treated quickly after an annual Life Scan physical – a comprehensive medical test covered by the city for all first responders.
