VIDEO: Firefighters from around the world will be in Kansas City this week.
It's part of a massive International Association of Fire Chiefs Fire-Rescue International Conference and Expo.
The 150th IAFC anniversary event, held in KC this year, draws in around 10,000 fire chiefs and company officers.

A law that went into effect this month in New Hampshire makes all types of cancer among firefighters a presumptive occupational disease.
The new statute is aimed at making it easier for firefighters with cancer to receive workers' compensation.
Research shows firefighters are at a higher risk of contracting the disease than the general population, and they deserve the presumption that it was caused by their work, Brian Ryll, president of the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire said in an interview.

VIDEO: Wednesday marks 35 years since the deadliest plane crash in Michigan history. On August 16, 1987, Northwest Flight 255 took off from Romulus headed for Arizona — it didn’t make it far.
Investigators blame a number of pilot errors on the crash, but the most important takeaway is the lives lost: 156 people were killed that day, all but one person on board and two people who were in vehicles near I-94 and Middlebelt Road.

The American Clean Power Association (ACP) has launched a new guide aimed at helping first responders understand and deal with battery storage safety incidents.
Including recommendations for pre-incident planning and incident response, the guide addresses potential hazards such as fire, explosions, arc flash, shock and toxic chemicals.

A fire broke out underground at the Brightwater Treatment plant in Woodinville.
Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue said the fire started as employees were fusing plastic piping on Tuesday. The fire shot down pipes 60 feet below ground.
According to Snohomish Fire, the fire is now contained. King County said in a blog post no one was injured during the fire, although two employees were evaluated by medics.
