VIDEOS/PHOTOS: Over 1,500 apple bins caught on fire Wednesday near Sunnyside, and the smoke cloud could be seen across the Valley.
The large bin pile fire was in the 2000 Block of SLI road just outside of Sunnyside, according to Yakima County Fire District 5.
They said they believed 1,500 to 2,000 bins were on fire.

A new partnership is coming to Clark County to address the increasing demand for behavioral and mental health crises. It's a first-of-its-kind partnership in Washington state using a fire department and mental health professionals.
When a first responder is called to an individual dealing with a mental health crisis, they don't always have the skills to de-escalate the situation.

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the agency’s fire partners will conduct a Wildland Fire Season Flying Rehearsal near Naneum Ridge State Forest on May 17, 2023, between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Naneum Ridge is about 15 miles north of Ellensburg.
Multiple aircraft will mobilize from several area airports simultaneously to practice maneuvering safely together in congested airspace.

Four people were treated after a hazardous situation at a Seattle trash dump Thursday, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
Just after 1 p.m., firefighters and medics responded to a hazardous material spill or leak at the North Transfer Station in the 1300 block of North 34th Street.
Crews asked people to avoid the area.

A massive overnight fire in Washington Park destroyed two houses and damaged a third home. No serious injuries are being reported; however, one firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.
It all happened on Portland Place, not far from Route 111 and north of I-64. Authorities told FOX 2 the two homes that were destroyed were both vacant, the third home which is damaged was occupied.
