Iowa no longer has a mandatory retirement age for reserve police officers and volunteer firefighters. Full and part-time police and firefighters in Iowa must retire at the age of 65.
The governor has signed a bill into law that eliminates that age restriction for volunteer firefighters and trained reserve police officers who are volunteers, but can make arrests and investigate crimes.

VIDEO: Firefighters in Ypsilanti are making a brief move back into their old firehouse that's since become a museum to celebrate the historic building and city's 200th birthday.
The Michigan Firehouse Museum is opening doors up again for firefighters for a limited time. Originally built in 1898, the Ypsilanti Firehouse was closed and later revitalized as a museum.

VIDEO: Saindy Pyles thought she was going to die with her baby son, Liam, clutched to her chest as she flew home to Wichita from Miami after photographing a wedding.
Midway through the flight Pyles said smoke filled the cabin after she saw sparks and fire burst from a bag in the seat directly behind her.

VIDEO: A fire burned several units in an apartment complex located in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood Monday morning.
“It was just like, ‘Hey, everyone needs to get out,’ and then it just kept building and building,” said Eastlake resident Corbin Anderson.
Anderson lives right across from the apartments that caught fire in the 2200 block of Minor Avenue East.

Investigators were on the scene of a two-alarm house fire in the 11200 block of E. Ibberson Drive near the north end of Silver Lake in Everett, Washington.
At this writing two people were being assisted by the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross and there were no reports of injuries.
The fire was reported just before 10 AM and a large column of smoke could be seen from blocks away.
