First of Central Kitsap's new fire stations coming soon at Olympic View

As Station 52 nears completion, the Olympic View neighborhood and others just west of Silverdale will be first to experience the benefits of Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue’s bond. The first of five newly constructed fire stations coming to Kitsap County, Station 52, at 5328 NW Anderson Hill Road, is in the final stages of construction with hope for a June 1 opening.

Vancouver house fire leads to death of multiple pets

Multiple fire crews responded to a house fire in Vancouver Wednesday morning, officials said. Although no people were injured, several cats and a dog did not survive the fire at 3501 N Street, according to the Vancouver Fire Department. Crews responded to the fire around 7:15 a.m. and worked to quickly knock down the fire and search for the animals, but VPD said no surviving pets were found.

VIDEO: Over 2,000 Indiana residents ordered to evacuate after fire ignites at recycling plant

PHOTOS: More than 2,000 residents are under an evacuation order after a large fire broke out at an Indiana recycling plant on Tuesday afternoon, officials said. New alert system in eastern Washington fire stations reduces response times, improves firefighter health
