Spokane County, the City of Spokane, Spokane Valley and other municipalities announced emergency declaration procedures Monday to help with the response to the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to a press release from Spokane County, the declarations are procedural and speed up the processes for the county and cities to quickly deploy funding and resources, seek state and federal resources and grant greater flexibility to work with existing local labor agreements
In a press conference Monday, Spokane County Commissioners, Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward and the City of Spokane Valley signed emergency declarations.

Kootenai County Emergency Management held a press conference addressing the county’s response to COVID-19 developments.
The Board of County Commissioners issued a disaster declaration on Sunday, which opened an Emergency Operation Center (EOC) for a coordinated response, and provides county-wide resources for first responders with Panhandle Health and Kootenai Health.

The Seattle Fire Department responded to a large fire at a homeless encampment near South Weller Street in the Chinatown International District at around 1:15 p.m. Monday, a department spokesperson said, after a cooking fire got out of control.
The fire was about 50 feet by 20 feet. While it was difficult to determine how many tents caught fire, the department spokesperson said at least one tent was burned.

Grant County Fire District 13 crews responded to a blaze early Sunday morning on the 13000 block of Drumheller Road.
When they arrived around 3:30 a.m., they found a fully involved trailer fire which had extended to a pump house.
Fire officials say the modified trailer, which was being used as a residence, is a total loss while the pump house received substantial damage.

VIDEO: An early morning fire heavy damaged a church in Duvall Monday.
The fire broke out around 1 a.m at the Adventure Church on NE Stella Street, according to Duvall Fire.
Firefighters arrived to find large flames shooting from the structure.
Crews with the help of firefighters from Woodinville managed to get the fire under control, and there were no reports of any injuries.
