VIDEO: An "emergency medicine legend" in the Pacific Northwest passed away on Friday, July 26, as the University of Washington announced that Dr. Michael Copass died.
Dr. Copass was the director of emergency services for decades at Harborview Medical Center. He also founded Airlift Northwest in 1982, which has taken over 100,000 patients to critical medical care in the region since its founding.

The Cougar Creek Fire, located approximately 23 miles southwest of Asotin near Highway 129, continues to challenge firefighting teams as they battle the blaze across rugged terrain and a varied landscape of timber, grass, and brush.
As of Monday morning, July 29, the fire was being held to 15,703 with 29% containment.

PHOTOS: An empty Woonsocket mill went up in flames and is now reduced to rubble as bricks lay in piles where the building once stood.
"I’m sure everybody is shocked that building has been there for a long time,” said Woonsocket resident Robert Hayes.
Firefighters say they got a call around 1:00 a.m.

“Vehicle fires are intense and dirty,” said Chief of Training Tom Schloemer. “The plastic or synthetic interior and fuel create hot, toxic smoke which is harmful to both firefighters and the environment.

VIDEO: Deputies responded to two separate car burglaries Saturday night, with both incidents occurring at different fire stations in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Firefighters returned from a late night call to find someone had broken into multiple employee vehicles at the East Side Fire Department on Old Hammond Highway.
