Two trapped as tree falls on Port Angeles mobile home

Three West Edgewood Drive residents are safe after a tree fell on their mobile home early this morning. Assistant Chief Mike DeRousie said that Clallam Fire-Rescue District No. 2 responded to the home at 2221 W. Edgewood Drive at 5:18 a.m. after a cottonwood tree fell on it, trapping two residents inside.

Seattle firefighters pay tribute to fallen brethren at downtown memorial

Seattle Fire officials gathered Friday morning to pay homage to firefighters who have died in the like of duty. The local ceremony, which took place in front of the Fallen Firefighters Memorial in downtown Seattle, is a part of a nationwide fallen firefighter tribute this weekend. The 35th Annual National Fallen Firefighter Memorial will be held this weekend at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Owner says dog missing after house catches fire in Seattle

One person was treated for minor burns after a fire broke at a two-story home in Seattle early Friday morning. Firefighters arrived at the home, located on 19th Avenue in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood, just after midnight. Firefighters doused the flames but have not entered the house. Fire officials say the structure is still too unstable.

Yakima Valley first responders may soon have new overdose prevention and response training

Imagine finding a loved one unconscious. They’ve overdosed and now on the verge of life or death… you rush to call 9-1-1. In Yakima County, the only first responders equipped with a drug-reversal treatment are the paramedics and that could be a problem. "Paramedics generally speaking are not going to be the first ones there and in fact the paramedics typically are trailing law enforcement officers and fire fighters by quite a few minutes because the paramedics are responding from the base stations that might be in town in the Yakima Valley,” said Mike Russell from the Yakima County Sheriff’s Department.

Bellevue residents demand transparency in Fire Station 10 process

As Bellevue acquires property in the Northtowne neighborhood to clear space for the pending Fire Station 10, some residents say they felt left out of the process and are now paying the price. Fire Station 10 is a proposed addition to the Bellevue Fire Department's coverage area mainly impacting Downtown Bellevue.
