Santa will be riding one of Arlington’s fire engines out across the community as the Santa Run returns for it’s 30th year from Dec. 6 to Dec. 15.
For 10 nights volunteers from the Arlington Fire Department and the city of Arlington will collect food and bring Santa around to meet local families.
The Santa Run begins at 5:30 p.

The driver accused of hitting a Yakima firefighter has turned himself into police.
40-year-old Hilario Rioz Altamirano of Grandview allegedly hit 62-year-old Terry Carter, a firefighter with Yakima County Fire District #5. It happened on Sunday morning, while firefighters were responding to a rollover crash on I-82 near Granger.

Spokane Valley Fire Department responded to a house fire on the 700 block of N Steen on Monday afternoon.
According to SVFD, bystanders across the street called 911 to report a fire in the home, after seeing what they described as a fully involved house.
A resident attempted to use two fire extinguishers and was spraying a garden hose when crews arrived.

A crowd of people lined up on one end of Worcester's Union Station one recent Sunday morning. They were there to see a special exhibit commemorating the Worcester Six.
"I guess 20 years is the time to break all this stuff out again and show the people. And the people still support us,” said Angelo Bongovio, a Worcester firefighter from 1983 to 2011.

In the Fall of 2017, a member of the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department (DFR) died by suicide. Earlier that year, the firefighter had been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and as a result faced disciplinary action. When the department learned of a second alcohol-related issue later the same year, and pending the outcome of the investigation, additional disciplinary action led to the firefighter being placed on administrative leave.
